Welcome to the Bryn Mawr Judo Club! Judo is a Japanese martial art that has been practiced for nearly 130 years. Judo is a defensive art, which relies on suppleness and manipulating an opponent's strength against them. Its methodology was designed to not only be used in combat, but as a way of life; Judo literally translated means "the gentle way". At Bryn Mawr Judo Club, we not only learn the technique of Judo, but its history and applicability to every day life. We're very excited to expand and invite new members of the Bryn Mawr community to our dojo. Classes are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday -- and you can come to however many you want. Keep in mind though, that the more you come, the better you will be! This year, we will have a booth at the Club Fair and we encourage you to stop by, meet some of our members, and learn about our club if you are interested in Judo. We will also be having a week-long open house in the early fall if you would like to stop by and actually do some Judo! We look forward to meeting you, and don't be shy -- we love new members!
